Reading Assessment for Chapter 5

1. I think the point that the author was trying to make was to give background information on the context of photographs to make better understand photographs when viewing them and to help us make better choices when we take them. Some of the context the author was trying to get across are internal context, original context, and external context.

2.  some of the things that I learned are the different kinds of contexts like external, internal, and original. According to the reading External context is "when the photographer is presented or found" (Pg.109).  Internal context is when "you pay attention to what is descriptively evident" (Pg.106). The way you view original context depends on the background knowledge of the photographer and viewer.

3. What I will take away from this chapter is how I view pictures, thinking of the context of which it is. Also knowing context helps you when taking a photograph, because you will keep in mind what the viewer maybe thinking.
